K Line to strengthen IT support
40 per cent-owned subsidiary company, KIS Corporation will be merged with another IT company named TOPS Software Co., Ltd, based in Tokyo. (12/7/2001)The merger will be effective from
January 1 next year.
The newly-established company will be named K Line Systems Ltd and
consist of about 100 IT staff members. It will gradually take over related
departments of all K Line group companies throughout Japan, becoming K
Line's dedicated IT company with IT staff reaching almost 200 members.
A company statement claimed that this merger will give K Line group
companies a strong IT capability in strategic planning and development,
with in-depth ocean transportation industry knowledge.
